Love dining out in Ottawa? Share your experiences with the 613Foodies community by submitting restaurant reviews! To ensure our platform remains reliable and helpful, we have a few guidelines in place. Read on to learn how you can contribute—and even get your meal reimbursed!

1. Create an Account

Before submitting a review, you’ll need to register for an account on 613Foodies.com. This helps us maintain a trusted community and ensures that all reviews come from real diners. Registration is quick and free!

2. Attach Your Receipt

To ensure authenticity, every review must include a clear scan or photo of your restaurant receipt. This helps us verify that reviews are based on real experiences.

Note: Your receipt details will not be published but are required for review approval and entry into our monthly draw (see below)!

3. Reviews Must Be Approved Before Being Published

All reviews go through a moderation process before appearing on the site. We review submissions to ensure they meet our guidelines and provide valuable insights to our community.

✅ Only approved and published reviews will be eligible for reimbursement. If your review doesn’t meet our guidelines, it won’t be posted, and it won’t qualify for the monthly draw.

4. Be Honest and Objective

Your review should reflect your actual dining experience. Whether it was fantastic or disappointing, share your honest opinion in a fair and balanced way.

5. Keep It Respectful

We welcome all opinions, but keep your feedback polite and constructive. Avoid offensive language, personal attacks, or discriminatory remarks.

6. Stick to Firsthand Experiences

Only submit reviews for restaurants you have personally visited. Reviews based on secondhand information or speculation will not be approved.

7. Provide Specific, Useful Details

A great review helps others make informed decisions. Instead of just saying, "The food was great," include details like:
✅ What dish(es) you ordered
✅ How the food tasted and was presented
✅ The quality of service and atmosphere
✅ Any standout features (good or bad)

8. No Fake or Promotional Reviews

Reviews must be genuine and unbiased. If you are affiliated with a restaurant, you must disclose it in your review. Paid or promotional reviews are strictly prohibited.

9. Stay Focused

Your review should be about the food, service, and overall experience. Avoid discussing unrelated topics like personal disputes or political views.

10. Add Photos (Optional, But Encouraged!)

Want to make your review even more helpful? Upload clear, unedited photos of your meal! This helps fellow foodies get a better idea of what to expect.

11. One Review Per Visit

Each user can submit one review per restaurant visit. If you revisit a restaurant and have a different experience, you can update your original review instead of posting a new one.

Monthly Review Draw – Get Your Meal Reimbursed!

Here’s the exciting part: every month, we hold a random draw from all published reviews. If your review is selected, you’ll be reimbursed for the receipt you submitted—up to $300!

How It Works:

Step 1: Submit a valid review with a scanned receipt.
Step 2: Your review goes through moderation and, if approved, is published on the site.
Step 3: Only published reviews are automatically entered into that month’s draw.
Step 4: One lucky reviewer is randomly selected.
Step 5: If you win, we’ll reimburse your meal (up to $300) based on your submitted receipt!

Important: Reviews that are not approved will not be published and will not be entered into the draw. Make sure your review follows all guidelines to increase your chances of being published!
